Can an individual ship ammo to California?
Does anyone have experience or know if I can ship ammo to an individual in California?
Thanks
I don't know but suspect not. Shortly soon, we will need a RealID drivers license to buy either firearms or ammunition here, and purchases will have to be made in person. No more like when I was growing up, anybody going to town was expected to bring back bread, milk, and 22 shells.
Internet ammunition buys went out this year, we will arrange to have ammunition shipped to an FFL now. They will charge a fixed $5 per box (not individual box of 20, it's $5 for the package). I will live with this, reluctantly. The good side of it is not worrying that someone will pick the UPS box off the front porch while I'm at work.

drummondlindseyIt’s only legal if you put Jeff Blair’s name and address as the return address on the package

dogcat,
California residents can no longer receive ammunition through the mail. All ammunition has to be shipped to licensed ammunition dealers or FFLs then the dealer does the transfer to the recipient.
Many online bulk ammo dealers have set up links to various FFL contacts in your area. I just ordered a case of Barnes 40 S&W that shipped to my FFL. Paid sales tax and $5.00 and went home with my ammo. So much for our BS CA laws.

BiggestGunWhat a nice dealer. I hope you're giving him all your gun business to offset his substantial expenses of handling ammo.
