I have had that happen about six times.It is pretty common in areas with a lot of bear.They can`t see too good and think the big blob in the tree is another bear.The subordinate bears usually climb trees to get away from the dominate ones.The first time it happened it was two cubs.Their momma was on my bait pile and I was hoping she did not notice me.When she was done she called them down and left.I have never had a big bear come on up ,but have seen them climb and they can scoot up a tree pretty fast.Yeah its kind of nerve racking ,but also I was never threatened(YET).
