I have a friend who is going to DIY a mule deer hunt in unit 39.

Does anyone have any info on the unit that would be successful?

My friend is a southern outfitter, and going on his first western hunt.

It’s a very popular unit, last season over 12,000 hunters with about 20% success overall. I’ve never hunted it but know many who have, mostly archery.

IDFG website has good info via their Hunt Planner section, with trails/access and whatnot.
