don444Wolf Hunt Injunction Denied
On Thursday the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals denied a temporary injunction that would have stopped wolf hunts in Idaho and Montana. Great News! There has got to be some kind of control on these animals.

Brian ClarkWhat the 9th had common sense for once. I'll be there in 12 days to try and help thin your herd in Idaho.

Bill/OregonYeah, the 9th usually lacks all common sense.

mike r.I am leaving Las Vegas on Oct. 10 and heading north for 3 weeks. I intend to pick up license and tag for wolf in Twin Falls or Stanley. Any suggestions for areas to go would be much appreciated.
Thanks, Mike R.

don444I'd go hunting all around the Stanley Basin. Up by Valley Creek lakes which is a little north of Stanley. My family has seen wolves in that area. In fact if you get your tag in Stanley I'm sure they could point you in the right direction. They'd probably be very glad to as a matter of fact. Hope this helps and good luck.

mike r.Thanks Don444. Ilove this forum. I'll be with my wife so am planning long day hikes with a rifle. where would be the best place to stay to minimize travel time? Would I be correct in assuming that I could see bears in this region also? Did I mention that this is the classiest site I have seen yet?

Ryan CampbellVery good. Good luck Mike.
The Hunt goes on forever, the season never ends.
I didn't learn this by reading about it or seeing it on TV. I learned it by doing it.

As Don said, the Stanley area would be a good place to start. There are a couple wolf packs working that country. Also check the Stanley Lake area which is south of Hwy. 21, a few miles before you get to Stanley, heading east on 21. I saw two wolves up there last Oct. when I was elk hunting.
Good luck.

You and your wife could stay in Stanley or Lower Stanley which is just down the Salmon River from Stanley. Yes, you could see bears. Good Luck to you.
