Colorado Man Kills Mountain Lion With Shovel To Keep It From Eating His Dog

A highlight from the article:

My guess is he will be charged criminally because he didn't let the lion attack him too.

Me too. I do not understand the priority that large predators are given. I'd protect my dogs, livestock as well. This is a question I pose the the fur-baby crowd: Why can't these things live off the land? It just results in blank stares.

My guess is he'll be fine for protecting his dog, protecting his livestock would probably get him in trouble.
