Trapper TomNew toy
Picked up the Merkel 961L drilling today that I bought at DSC. It's a 9.3 74r x 9.3 74r with a 20ga underneath. Scoped with a Kahles 1 x 6. Can't wait to get to the range!

mt AlAwesome! The 20 vs. 12 balances things nicely. Had an old hammer double rifle drilling and enjoyed hunting with it for a few years. Not even close to as nice as yours but a gas to use in the right conditions.

Trapper TomI had watched this gun for over a year and finally got it for my price. The former owner gave me some sample targets shot with Federal premium with Barnes TSX. It looks promising. I hope to do some rabbit hunting with it soon and get it to the range if it ever warms up here!

Vol717I have the same gun, topped with a 30mm Leupold 1-4 European. My gun was regulated with 15 Gram Norma Vulkans. I have done some load development with heavier 250 and 286 grain bullets, but not to my satisfaction. I also have CEBs and GCs in solid copper to try. These are 196 and 230 grain to account for the longer bullets. It's 1 degree here in Tennessee so I'll wait a bit before trying anything.
