Gunsmith for bluing a blaser combination gun
Can anyone recommend a high quality gunsmith that could reblue a blaser combo gun? The gun is a BD880 in 20 gauge, 22 hornet, and 7.65 r.

I have a friend that has one that he wants to have refinished.

Thanks

The newer Blaser barrels are nitrided, not sure about the older ones. Might make a difference in bluing. Griffin & Howe might be an option.

Won’t stick to the nitride… Big Grin

Ford’s plating in Florida does very good work. Some processes they farm out but everything I have seen come out of their shop has been wonderful.

Shoot the largest caliber you can shoot well, and practice, practice, practice.

Any Blaser since the R93 is nitrided on the barrels. I am not sure what kind of process it takes to remove that finish.

Blasers of the 80's have really gawdy looking aluminum receivers that are usually prepared with a strange finish. Best practice would be to cerakote it.

Is this a drilling?

Bockdrilling to be exact?

Rare cat.

The new Blaser bockdrillings are $10,000.

His is a 20 gauge over 7x65r with a 3 rd barrel that is a 22 hornet.

The ones I got are traditional drillings, a 12 gauge over 7x65r bbf and a side by side double barrel gun that is 16 gauge and 7-57r
