Weatherby drilling and combo guns ?
Has anyone ever seen a Weatherby - J. P. Sauer 3000 drilling or BBF combo gun ? Weatherby was the importer and marked Weatherby on the barrel.

Havent seen one in a long time. Colt also imported them and were marked Colt/Sauer.
A lot of the American market guns came without sling swivels. I did'nt care for that feacher but I guess some people did.

I have seen several of the Weatherby, and several of the Colt.

Most all were in 12x12 and either 243 or 30/06.

There were also the Sauer 3000 imported into America, again in 12x12x 243 or 30/06.

To me these are some of the best handling Drillings on the Market.

I had a Sauer 3000 of that vintage that said Sauer, but it was in the Weatherby serial number series and the paperwork said Sauer and Weatherby.

These were good drillings, and I regret selling mine.

I once had a Colt Sauer 12X12X30-06, with claw mounts and a Zeiss 4X scope.

I took a couple of elk and mule deer with the rifle barrel, and tons of dove and blue quail with the shot barrels.

Sauer drilleings are top of the line even in the field grade!

Back in the early sixties they sold for $1600 and that was a lot of money for any rifle in those days!
