austrian combo and drillings VS german made
Hi
there are many used drillings of austrian(mostly Ferlach) and german combo and drillings on the market. which one has higher quality and best as used gun and a better buy?
regards
yes
YES, you can't go wrong with either of those countries. I would say the cheapest made piece from either country is as good quality as you will find in any other country where combination guns are concerened!
I have owned a lot of rifles from both countries, and I haven't had a bad one in the lot. I've also owned, and still own several double rifles from both places, and I have found them to be just as good, and many time better fitted, as the same grade double made in the UK! I know that may be a mortal sin to say but it is the truth. The Tutanic LOOK is what puts folks off, in most cases, not the quality! Just follow all the check points you would when buying any gun, and especially used guns, and don't worry about the country!

Sambar 9.3Yes, I would second MacD37 on this, any good quality gun from either country will serve you well. More often than not, it is the 'look' of the guns that put people off them, and sometimes the weight can be a factor.
The main thing would be to follow the steps you would normally employ when purchasing a second hand gun, and above all, make sure the gun 'feels' right to you.
As with a shotgun, gun 'feel' is largely subjective, no-one can do it for you.
