yes, I couldn't think of an Italian gun that falls within the price range you have specified. I would also recommend CZ/BRNO as a valid choice for the money.
They do turn up from time to time in 8x57R, it may just be a question of keeping your eye out for one.

Best of luck.

Cheers, Dave.

Whilst understanding your wish for something sleek, sexy and Italian - the cheaper versions tend to lack in reliability.

The often recommended BRNO is reliable and a work horse.......... fortunately, the Model 502 is actually a bit of a looker as well!

If you could live with one of these - your search could be at an end!

Available in a load of calibres - including 7 x 57 ( http://www.guntrader.co.uk/GunsForSale/ )

As we discussed on another, similar thread, the stone axe of combination guns is Brno's ZH 300 series. And when the manufacturer was under Communist rule, you were able to special order monoblocs. What this meant was that a competent gunsmith would be able to create a combination of your choice. And, yes, you can kludge the extraction maechanism to function with rimless cartridges.

hi naftali
Actually last week I was at gunshop and tried a few combos from brno both the old 300 models and the new 500 models .but all were in 22 savage(5,6x52R) over 12 Frowner no one in 7x57R och even better 8x57JRS which is a better round for heavier games.
indeed the brno guns are allways a good value for the money and good working horse. I have to admit the newer model looks much better and opening and closing is much smoother than the old ones.

Yes indeed. Tired is the best I could come up with. Am very keen to get a combination with these calibres. But not that keen.

Those were just my first thoughts, based entirley on a shoddy photo that did not do the weapon justice in any way. Was just thinking of going to have a look at it when I read your post. Its still on guntrader though. Smiler

You're quite right, it does look a bit ropey, I'm just hoping it will shoot well and maybe look better with a bit of TLC. Smiler

You haven't got any idea what model it is have you? The chap I spoke to at Minsterely didn't know and I've spent hours trying to locate its twin online, to no avail. It certainly doesn't match the ZH 304.

Sorry I cant help there. I looked as well and could not track it down. Hope it works well for you. Would be interested in how it works out for you.
