j p sauer/charles daly combo
Hello! I have come across a J P Sauer & Son in 20x20x6.3. This is a hammer gun with 26" barrels. Sidelock says Charles Daly. There is a made in Prussia also. What do I have and what caliber is 6.3? I can find no reference to this caliber. Thank you for your help. Gary

Multiplying 6.3 x 0.03937, I get 0.248 inches.

Remember the 6.3 is the measured plug size that will pass thru the bore not groove dia. I would do a chamber cast & slug the bore and start looking at the 6.5 (Groove dia.) cartridges that match your casting such as 6.5x57R or ......

It will be a 25-35. Wink

Dalys from that era were made for the US market and were chambered in 25-35, 30-30, and 38-55 commonly.

I'll bet the 20ga chambers are 2 1/2", also.

Sounds like a nice little woods gun...
