Frank,

I tried to find out informations. Nothing.

Marburg is a town in Hessen, but there is and was no gunsmith named Dahl.

Any more informations about this gun?

I would venture a guess and say that it´s a sellers mark, a brand label rather than a maker.

Post some pics and I and the others to, most likly will help you out as much as we can.

I have heard of Marburg gun before however they were all built in parts in the town of Marburg.

Best regards Chris

I know a german forester, experienced dogman and specialist for tracking wounded big game with the name Frank Dahlem - but he never builded a drilling!

I finally got a little more information.

The chambering is 16x16x8x58RSauer. The round is somewhat unique now but was apparently used enough for RCBS to still offer dies and brass is still available.
The rifle is a localized guild gun and the name designates the township or region.
Once I get the ammo put together and shoot it some I will post again.
I got hold of some 16 ga. 2.5 shells and did a little fun shooting. It seems solid enough and I have decided to keep it for the fun of having it anyway.
