Sporterized Springfield
I picked up a pretty decent Springfield last month and was wondering if I wanted to rebarrel and have a stock refinished and fixed up somewhat, like maybe ebony foreend tip etc. Who would be the person to do this sort of work and have this done well. I would appreciate any ideas or thoughts on this project as I am new to this sort of endeavor.

Thanks

Scott

Are you looking to have the old stock re-done or a new one made?

Mr Kobe is at least one man that will do a fabulous job for you if you want that Springield spruced up.

I've never had an interest in Springfields but in recent years have seen some very fine examples of the gun makers art and now believe a custom equal to the best Mausers (possibly better) can be built on that action.

Best of luck to you and your project.

Thank you both, for responses. Jim, I touched base with you late last year on this before I got this rifle. I'm open for suggestions on the whole project. But at least a rebarrel and redone stock or a new one. Please give me your thoughts on this. I think I can Email some pics of this to you. I want this to be nicely done without breaking the bank on first project.

Thanks again for your responses.

Get a copy of Michael Petrov's book for ideas, definitive examples, if you don't already have it.
