jeffe195124-47 "practical"
Hello everyone,
This is my first post on the forums here.
I have been working on a slightly different sporterization.
Yugo (Serbian) 24-47 intermediate action.
Barrel shortened and crowned at 20.5".
Original front sight remounted and silver soldered in place.
Williams 5D rear sight. Original rear sight removed.
Timney sportsman trigger.
Original bolt handle cut off and replace with a reshaped Timney.
Original stock cut back, sanded and re-oiled with Watco clear and then glass bedded.
Optics mount machined custom for the original 8mm barrel. Aluminum mount and barred drilled and tapped with four 8-40 screws.
Everything metal, cerakoted in graphite black except trigger group, extractor with ring and bolt face.
Allen head action bolts.
No sling mounts yet. I'm considering a mount in the front of the forearm where the cleaning rod hole was.
Hope the photos work.
Jeff
Very good; this rifle will do the same job as a $3k custom one. Nothing wrong at all with 8mm and the Yugo actions are strong.
Let us know how it shoots.
Oh, welcome to AR; I am not good at social etiquette.

Nice looking rifle, and welcome to the forums!
If you decide to put a sling on it my suggestion is to put a forend tip on your stock then mount the stud properly to the bottom of the new forend tip. It will look better but more importantly when you fit a sling swivel stud to the front of the stock like that they carry terribly on your shoulder (they also look funny which the guy behind you will point out every time it points at his head).
