The bolt release is correct for the FN made Peruvian Model 1935.

Back in the '70's, my brother got one that was sporterized and reamed to '06. He had terrible accuracy so I slugged the bore and found it ran .312" IIRC.

Yea The store wanted it back. I talked to a gunsmith, he said that was a common conversion with the 7.65 mausers.

Funny i did see an Argy at a show a few months ago marked 30/06.

doesn't the notch in the receiver ring mark it as chambered in '06?

I'm not sure. I thought the rebarreled ones were stamped 30 on the rear ring.
