I 'll leave this on alone for a while. Bore is very good. Wrong bolt release?

MopaneMikeBetter yet... If it's a carbine/short rifle w/matching number's..
You should sell it to me.. She'll stay the way she is the rest of my life..
There's plenty of clunkers with good actions out there. No use destroying a piece of good Mauser history..
bad news. it's been reamed to '06.

Joe DeanBack in the '70's, my brother got one that was sporterized and reamed to '06. He had terrible accuracy so I slugged the bore and found it ran .312" IIRC.
Yea The store wanted it back. I talked to a gunsmith, he said that was a common conversion with the 7.65 mausers.
Funny i did see an Argy at a show a few months ago marked 30/06.

tin candoesn't the notch in the receiver ring mark it as chambered in '06?
I'm not sure. I thought the rebarreled ones were stamped 30 on the rear ring.
