There is a beautiful mini mauser Zastava M 85 at the shop....
in 7.62x39......any thoughts on having it reamed out to
7.62x51 aka .308?

7.62x 39 is .311 bore...and I don't think the action is long enough either to feed...

It is hard to jam a 22-250 case in a Mini. Yes it is done. But, Forget something like a 308 case

Not to mention the rim size. So maybe a 7.62 PPC
Or rebarrel and use the PPC case No clue if would feed.

There have been several people rebarrel them to 6.5 Grendel. I also heard someone rebored one to 358x39.

I have spoken with JES Reboring about going to the 35 with one of mine. He tells me it is remarkably accurate and there are no issues at all with feeding.

I have been playing with the 358 Gremlin for about two years, and for whatever it is worth, I cannot for the life of me get it to feed from any magazine out there. I like the round and even single feeding it in the AR it will cut holes at 100. There is not a nickel's worth of difference between it and the 7.62 X 35 other than the Gremlin case is blown out a bit. (I think that is what is causing the feed problems in the Gremlin, truth be told.)

But no, the 7.62 X 51 will not fit the mag.
