remboRuger 35 Whelen
I've found a Ruger M77 tang safety in 35 Whelen...just how rare are these rifles?
I'm guessing they were only built from '88(the yaer Remington made the 35 Whelen a factory cartridge) until about '92 when the original tang safety M77 was replaced with the Mark II.....
any idea on production numbers?..value?....this one is probably 98% or better....

Dr. LouI just sold one a couple of months ago. I believe there was a run of 500 in 1989. Lou

D99I have one, a friend has one I found, and I have only seen one more.
500 is probably it.
Mine's got a HSP stock and teflon on all the metal. Kills shit dead.

MTMA guy at our range has 2. Both bought in Van. Both are good shooters.

Woodrow SI bought one when they first came out. It was a short run and 350-500 is about right for the Ruger specialty runs. I had my rifle's metal done in Metalife hard chrome with a brushed satin silver finish and fitted by Mark Bansner into one of his Hi-Tech Specialties fiberglass stocks. It looks and shoots great and is totally weatherproof. Just can't beat the 35 Whelen as a medium range hammer. I just got some 225 Accubonds to try out.
