Any comments on the show?

Cold BoreA good friend from Memphis goes every year. He just roams around and looks. Every now and then he'll buy something.
For him it's just about the "experience".
Some day I'm gonna have to go with him...

tomo577i had 2 tables at the last show. it may be the biggest but a las vegas show certainly has a far better crowd of people than this place.
i never met a cruder bunch of people at any public event. and watch your stuff--- there are plenty of theives !
the wannamakers who put on the show start saturday morning on the pa system telling everyone to pay up for the next show or lose your place. this continues all day.
then on sunday - the "witch " mrs wannamaker goes on all day telling you if you didn't pay yesterday you lost your place. she really seems to take delight in this.
worlds biggest gunshow, maybe.
managed by redneck hillbilles, definitely

6.5BR http://www.tulsaarmsshow.com/frames.htmlI believe it is 2x a yr, April and October, other shows in the town but this is the 'big one' I understand.
I was interested in going to look, perhaps trade, but not getting a table.
$10 admission.....guess I will see all I need in 1 day, if I go, we will see.

sierra2I'll be there on Saturday, and I know I won't be able to see the entire show. Say what you will, Tulsa is the biggest surviving Gun Show in the USA

fla3006The Tulsa show is a great show for buying. 3800 tables, tons of stuff, something for everybody, from high-end double rifles to Mossbergs. I've talked to alot of people who plan their vacations around this show.

lb404All on the forum are invited to come by and visit at my tables(15C, upper leve. There are plenty of AR members that will be there. Wear good comfortable shoes just like you would hunting in Africa. You might want to rethink the hillbilly theme as there are a lot of items you won't find anywhere else. I am located at 15C and have 5 tables. We would love to meet you all. By the way, to do the show justice, you can not see everything in this building in one day unless you are just cruising through. At times the show is poorly organised and the constant harping is irritating. They sell almost every table in the place twice a year so they must be doing something right. There used to be even larger numbers of vendors but all the new rules with ATF killed off many folks that simply dont want to fuss with that BS at all.

nyriflemanWill those of you who are going do me a favor? I've been ISO an custom M-70 or Mauser by Maurice Ottmar for a few years. I'm looking for one with a longer LOP, 14 inches is fine, 14 1/4 is perfect. Ideally I'd like something in the range of a .30-06 or a .300 Win Mag, or the like. If you come across something that might fit the bill, will you get a name and phone number so I can contact the seller? I would greatly appreciate it.

James Cardwelllb404, I have a couple of guns I want to trade. Can I get a fair trade-in at this show? I have made plans to attend Sat. Thanks.

lb404As fair as can be done at a gun show. This show is one where people go to sell. The dealers are pretty savy and usually so are the sellers. The best deals are those comming through the doors. If you are a dealer you can get in Friday and look things over pretty well before the public can get to it. I usually do pretty well both selling and buying.
