Hello all,
New to the forum and have been taking in all the share knowledge here, so I thought I would ask for some advise.
I have a Remington SPS 300 win mag that kicks like a barn yard mule. I would like to replace the tupperware stock with a thumbhole stock of some kind. Any thoughts or suggestions besides "if you cant handle the recoil get rid of the rifle" .....
I have looked at Boyds and also Stocky stocks Bobby Hart Thumbhole. Also the Blackhawk Axiom recoil reducing stock. Does it really work?

My objective is to make the rifle more comfortable to shoot and reducing some recoil. I have shot a few different rifles with thumhole stocks and it seems to manage felt recoil.
If I dont want to shoot it, I will trade it off for something else
I do a fair amount of shooting and hunting. I have shot other 300's that are more comfortable to shoot. Just looking for advise....sorry for rambling.

Apparently, the Axiom stock was not designed for big bores. I put one on a .416 Remington Mag to try and that damn gun beat the snot out of me with that stock. I don't have any experience with it in a smaller caliber. I tend to think it would tame down a .300 a lot better. The 416 is normally a pussycat in a normal stock, not in that one though. I have a couple of take off Sendero stocks that are going up for sale. All of them are used and in good condition. They are starting to get a bit shiny instead of dull matte because I shoot a lot but they are not beat all to hell and there is nothing wrong with them other than they are too short for me.

Anyone else have input on a thumbhole to help felt recoil?
Or any other stock options to consider????

the thumbhole is a rather straight design and in a laminate will add some weight, so i would expect felt recoil to decrease by quite a bit. the disadvantage is that it does add weight if the gun is to be carried alot, and is rather clumsy for quick shots
