Hi,
I own a .375 H&H, Mannlicher mod 70, that is in very good shape and shoots well. I understand that this isn´t a very common chambering and I´m sort of wondering what it might be worth?

If anyone can put me in the right ballpark I´d appreciate it.

Would you please post a photo.....I've never seen one.

Posting pics isn´t something I do well but I´ll see if boha can help me with that tomorrow.

Winchester never cataloged a mannlicher stocked 70 in 375H&H in the US, so it could be a custom shop rifle, an export only rifle, or an after-market rifle. I'd like to see a picture. The only cataloged mannlicher stocked 375 H&H that I've seen or heard of were made by Sako.

This is a Mannlicher-Schonauer original, sierra2 once checked the serial numbers for me and it was made in Austria in the 70´s. It doesn´t have a full stock but I know that´s what most people think about when they here "Mannlicher".

I have a case of lumbago so I won´t get the pics today -sorry.

Seems that boha knows more about my guns than I do! It´s a nice rifle, shoots well and is very well balanced.

Its not worth much. I will help you out as I am a great guy. How about a few hundred and I take care of it for you. You dont really like it that much anyway.

G'day, without the scope, but including mounts, here in OZ it would go for between $1500 and $2000, assuming perfect condition.
Try and get hold of a copy of "the blue book of gun values". that should give you an idea of it's value in Finland.

I pretty much know it´s value here and it´s effected by .308itis that many Finnish hunters are afflicted with!

The shape is G/VG. Bluing is about 90%, some scrathes and dents to the wood but nothing major. Works flawlessly. I´m not sure it´s a seller, I did my first African hunt with this rifle and it did me good.

Love seeing that picture of your M72 Mannlicher. What is it worth? Well, given that it was only marketed in Europe, not in the USA or OZ, the price is probably whatever the market will bear. Since it would be a rarity outside of Europe, I would go with the $1500.00 estimate

One more comment on the Steyr-Mannlicher and M-72 Mannlicher-Schoenauers. There are two versions, both having .375 H&H chamberings. The "Steyr-Mannlicher" Model S and S/T of 1968-1996 which is familiar to the US and OZ folks, and this nice M-72 (also Model S, made 1973-1975) in .375 H&H. The M-72 is far more rare, and more desirable than the S-M, because it is all steel. The actual barrel and chamberings are the same. You will not find any of these with a full stock, unless it was a custom made unit.

I guess I bought it at a good price then, about half of what you mention. It´s a keeper, maybe one of the kids will want to use it one day. My 9.3x62 has pretty much taken the .375:s place, at least for the moment.
