Charles_HelmThey also have a 286 grain soft, although the 250 grain is a pretty darn good one and the only one I have used so far. They list a flat-point and cup-point solid in 286 grain as well. You have to check the
Pricing page on the
website.

Based on my reading of the forums here and discussions with North Fork, for solids, the cup points would be good for buffalo as they will expand a little bit and penetrate very well. The flat points would be used where you need maximum penetration like elephant or maybe hippo.
I would suggest emailing North Fork with any questions as they have been very helpful to me. They will make a suggestion for your specific needs. He may suggest flat-point solids and the true softs as I am not sure how many people have used the cup points in 9.3.
For situations where a solid is not needed the soft points are very good, with excellent penetration. Be aware that I have only shot a couple of animals with them and am no expert.
I have taken a 9.3x62 to Africa twice. My favorite bullet has been the Barnes X bullet. We also did load development for the Woodleigh 320gr. round nose soft and solid as well as the 286 gr. North Fork cup point and flat nose solid. We continued our development with the North Fork 250gr soft point. The conclusion is that the NF 250gr. soft point is faster per given weight of powder than is the X buller both the regular X and the triple shock. My 4 rifles love the NF solids at almost 2600 f/s. It prints half inch groups with the Woodleigh 320 gr. softs and solids. My opinion after several hundred chronographed loads is that the 250 gr. NF soft point is THE light bullet for the 9.3 and the 286gr CPS and FPS are all the bullets you need for the 9.3x62. We did a lot of work with the two Nosler bullets. They were accurate in our rifles, HOWEVER, offered nothing that could not be bettered by the North Fork triad.

jstevensI have shot a lot of the 286 NF. I can't seem to make the 250's pick up over 100 fps over 286's, so just stick with them. I used mine of a 7-ft black bear in BC last year with 286 NF's.
