It's in the monthly flier. That is a decent deal. These would be good if you wanted to use your 6,5x55 SE on a cow elk. They would also hold up better than a lot of bullets out of a 6.5x284 or .264 Win Mag. I have used TBBC's in the past in .270 Win, .375 H&H, and .416 Rem Mag. They were more than accurate enough for hunting purposes. I have not shot any since Speer started producing them. There has been a small rumor that the jacket/shank material is leaning more toward the gilding than the pure copper side of the house.
I will try some of the 6.5's because I drew for cow elk in ID and OR this year, and may use the 6,5x55. If you already have some Partitions on hand I wouldn't necessarily recommend running out and getting some TBBC's.
In my limited experience the TBBC's penetrate and expand on a par with Swift A-Frames.

I bought a bunch of those 6.5's from Jack Carter when he was still running TBBC. I load those in a 6.5 x 55 over RL-22. I bought those bullets because at the time Nosler Partitions were in short supply. Shot a bunch of game with them, shot well in a rebarreled Remington 700 the CPR did up for me. At 13 or so dollars for a box of 25 is not a bad price at all. Just about any bullet out of a 6.5 x 55 is going to do just fine. It all then boils down to what bullet shoots best in your rifle, and since most all 6.5 x 55 shoot real well with just about anything, it becomes more of what you want to handload.

Whats "25/box: $13.95"? Box of 25 bullets for $13.95 ? Thats expensive...

You think 0.56 per bullet is expensive? Just buy a box of .416 Rigby ammo, or a box of .300 Dakota empty cases!!

Thanks for the info on these bullets. They do strike me as a great premium bullet, but I have never used them. My 6.5-06 is some time away, so I didn't see a need to buy any bullets yet. Thought someone else could benefit from the sale, tho. I will definitely try some when I am ready. maxman

I thought the TBBC's would be good to try in my 6.5x55 and the price was certainly right. So I ordered 4 boxes based on the description in the flyer. They arrived yesterday and the 6.5's turned out to be moly coated. I double checked the flyer and then called Midway. The lady confirmed there had been a mixup in the description and offered to issue an RMA since I didn't want moly coated bullets for this rifle. So back they go.

They're a great deal, but just be aware that if you order the 6.5's they'll be moly coated.

People who don't shoot a 6.5x55 don't realize how potent this rascal is. I got my moose in Ontario last year with a 6.5x55 using a Sierra 160gr. SPSP bullet. The bullets for this caliber have a fantastic bullet co-efficient. They'll tear up an animals boiler room, and the beauty is they don't have to be doing 3000fps. to do it. I have mine in a Remington Classic. It's also an accurate bugger. I love it. Best wishes.

Hey Cal,
What load did you use with the 160 grain bullet? I'm working up elk loads in my 6,5 x 55 SE, and would like to give that looooong bullet a try.
Thanks,
