KDF and Other Muzzle Brakes
Would like to know opinions concerning the KDF and also any other muzzle brakes you have had experience with. I have had a couple brakes before and do know the pros (they work and also greatly reduce muzzle jump so I usually can see whether or not I scored a hit) and cons (noise)
I am also pondering geting the same gunsmith/barrel maker who made my custom .338 barrel to install the brake. This guy actually makes the barrels. Don't want a peeing contest if something goes wrong between barrel maker and brake installer gunsmith. Or is this a real issue??? Ray

newtoot I have gotten rid of all but one of my muzzle break rifles. [The one I keep I got from a friend who is dead now].
I have had the following braked rifles, 416 Rem Mag [total custom job, brake by rifle maker.
416 WBY mag, factory rifle, factory brake.
257WBY and 300 WBY, breaks installed by KDF in Seguine TX. KDF's worksmanship was flawless.
The brakes were just too loud for me...
However the 300 WBY mag with the break [it was the lightweight McMillian stocked Fiberclass rifle] kicked about like a 243 with the break.

I wound up getting a custom brake made and installed by the gunsmith/machinist/barrel maker
who made (not just installed) my barrel. Some of the holes are angled slightly forward to cut down on noise. Thanks for all replies! Ray
