Give us some more details. What country do you live/hunt in. What other rifles do you have.
I have been using a 9,3x74R for several years. I have used 232 Vulcan Norma factory loads, 270 Speer handloads on deer and pigs with excellent results, however I have mostly used 286 grain bullets from game from beaver to black bear, kudu and waterbuck.
I have found the 9,3 to be an excellent hunting calibre.

Congratulations on your new rifle.

Mostly looking comments from people familar with the gun. Already have a 9.3x62 in an older Husky. 35 Whelen, 06, 260, 30/40k, 22/250 are some of the others. Hunt deer in the woods and haven't shot anything over 70 yards. Looking for a moose trip. Would love to hunt pigs but there aren't any in Michigan. Certainly you can see my need for this gun.

Carne,

I have a pair of Steyr SBS rifles: .308 Win and .376 Steyr. They are accurate, and so far reliable.

I a annoy people talking about my Steyr SBS. 6.5x55. Think it is a great rifle. Killed a groundhog with it (took me 3 shots to connect) at 404 yards over the summer. Bought a wood stock from CDNN. Made it even better. Steyr should be ashamed of their synthetic stocks on these rifles. Otherwise, I think it is a flawless rifle. Also have a Mdle. 1956, but don't really shoot it.

Went for the wood. Don't care for plastic. Need to get a scope and rings on it as the gun came in today.

Nice pictures. No pig problem in Michigan so I'll wait a bit. Thanks

I had to part with my 9.3mm SBS, arthritis, however, the new owner has taken two Elk and a Moose with it. Must work pretty well.
