I ran across this closeout on Nitrex Opitcs. Nitrex TR-One line is the same quality and made in the same plant in Japan as the Weaver Grand Slam scopes. I couldn't resist picking up the 1.5x5 for 129.99 when the same Grand Slam scope sells for over $300.

I guess Weaver decided a separate brand was not a good idea and has discontinued the Nitrex brand.

Anyway, great bargains are to he had if you are in the market for a scope. Thought I would pass it on.

I saw one of the 6.5-20x40's for sale at a local gunshop for around $400 if I remember correctly (which would be a miracle), it looked like a decent scope, but I had the old "you get what you pay for, especially with optics" mindset, and let the deal go. Let us know how the scope works for you.
