Mine only liked 180 Hornady RN or Rem 180 RN Core Lokts.

Hello, Got this fellow at work who's shooting a M77 from the late 70s, the guy he bought it from says it'll only shoot 180gr Round nose bullets accurately, just wondering what bullet shoots best from your M77. Thanks, Jay

Jay:
Ive loaded some 06s for a friend on mine a couple of years ago for his 70 era Ruger 77. We loaded a couple of different loads and finally achieved some good results with the following.
Nosler 180 gr. PT #16331 - 55.1 gr. IMR 4350 Powder - CCI 200 Primer
Sierra 165 gr. BTSP #2145 - 54.3 gr. IMR 4064 Powder - CCI 200 Primer
Nosler 150 BT #30150 - 62.8 gr. Win. 760 Powder - CCI 250 Primer
Good Shooting

Mine is new but shoots 150 grain Noslers quite well, around 25 mm/100 m. The 125 grain Ballistic Tips do good, too, at around 35 mm; this is better than from my Blaser break top with those light bullets. I use Alliant RL19 and still RL12 for the latter.
