Re: 270 WSM any good?
My Kimber Montana in 270 WSM weighs a half pound less than an old M70 Featherweight in 270 Win. It's more powerful too.

There was a niche to fill in the 270 bore and the WSM fills it.

This rifle is really good for long range coyotes too. It's good for woods hunting as well. A true all around gun. So is a 270 Winchester. This one is a little better for me.

Thinking of getting a 270 wsm. I have not herd much about this caliber. What are your thoughts?

Im gonna go out on a limb here, but Im guessing that if you were to take one of those and say an old 270 Win and point them both at a deer and squeeze off a shot that they both would prolly go bang and result in a dead animal.

Of corse thats purely conjecture on my part.

We as hunters are spoiled with lots of choices these days. Get whatever gives you a warm an fuzzy feeling and enjoy it.

I got a 270WSM in a model 70 featherweight. Very accurate. I also got two regular .270's, an original pre-64 featherweight and a model 700, both very accurate also. I truly don't believe I can do anything with the WSM that I couldn't do with the regular .270. The WSM is less than 10 percent faster than the standard round. Big deal.
