Just curious, have any of you seen the new Win 70's in stores yet?
If you have what is your opinion of them?

Snowwolfe ----- I saw four rifles of the new Model 70 line this past weekend at the NRA convention in Louisville Kentucky. The representives said that two of them will be available (sorry I don't remember the exact rifles but three were blue steel and the fourth stainless) about September of this year and the others later. I am interested in the stainless all weather model and they said it would not be available until after the first of the year. Good shooting.

I wish I would've known you were going to be at the meeting, dad and I made the trek as well; we could have met up or something. It was a great time, but more to the point, the Winchester guys told us what they told you. We also grilled him on the reincarnation of the custom shop and his answer was "we hope to have the model 70 back to where it was within 5 years." Good news, indeed.

He also hinted the Model 94 would be back shortly, as well! Either way, it was VERY nice to once again hold a brand new M70 in my hands. Too bad none of them are left handed!

That is rotten news about the stainless model not being available until after the first if the year. I ordered one from my local dealer and was told to expect it sometime in late June or July.....nuts.
