ReloaderPrice Check on Aisle 9 Please.....
Stopped by the shop and rubbed on a few yesterday

What would you fella say the value of the following rifle would be:
Pre 82 (bolt lock safety) Model 700 barreled action. ADL config, Jeweled bolt, satin smooth no shine finish. Placed into a HS Sporter stock.
Chambered in 8mm Rem Mag
Condition:
Barreled action 99%
Stock 90% large scratch on action side(More of a slight impression instead of a scratch) No paint removed but, still a blemish.
I would say the Barreled action is worth 350 tops and the stock 150 for a total of 500+tax.
Shop wants 600 and has had it on the rack for years.
I thought about purchasing it for a nice elk set-up but, need it about as bad as the other few dozen I have now

That's a cart you don't see much of these days. I'd say the owner probably let it sit due to recoil and traded it off. It appears to be fired very few times.
Thanks

StonecreekI'd say it would sit about as long at $500 as it has at $600 (although I would personally regard it as an attractive rifle). All that custom work doesn't mean squat to the average buyer; in fact virtually anything that alters a gun's factory configuration devalues it. You ought to be able to get it under $500 in my opinion (but then I'm a tightwad).

Idaho SharpshooterI would buy it today for $500 and pay shipping here to Idaho! The really, really bad news is...it's just a barrel away from being a 9,3x404J (or .366 RUM) since it has that nice looooong mag box and boltface. Pretty close to the ultimate sheep and LR plains game rifle as a 9,3 RUM, IMHO.

lawndart$500.00 if the stock has the full length aluminum frame. Great caliber. Equivalent to the 8x68S. Dream on at $600.00.

IdahoVandalIt was a sad state of affairs--
I am over at WSU now however, things were going a little better until we choked against the ducks.
After the whole Dennis Erickson deal-- Vandal sports are in a world of hurt!
Should be interesting next year-- BSU gets to go play the Dawgs-- in Seattle. Its too bad BSU keeps getting the weak schedule, they would probably get more respect if they moved conferences.
Whats even funnier is that the tribe from the north (Vandals) get to make a little visit to SoCal next fall against USC.... what a stupid idea....

Idaho SharpshooterIV,
know what you mean...it's called a body-bag game...show me the money$$$$$$$. I expect that BSU will be in the Pac-Ten, along with Nevada-Reno in less than five years. Pac-Twelve makes for two six team divisions, and a play-off for more $$$. Play five in your division, three of the other each year, and have four non-conference games a year.
I'd love to see the Vandals return to glory, finish second in the WAC every year...behind BSU, of course.
Go Broncos & Vandals!!!!!
