woodsieWhich Sythetic Stock for my Rem 700?
I am looking for a Sythetic (not Wood) for my Remington 700 ADL 30-06.
I would perfer to by it from Cabelas, so I can use my points.
Do I need any special "bedding" on the stock.
Some seem to come on it, some dont.
Any help is much appreciated.
Thank,
W.

seafire2I always recommend a Hogue Rubber stock if someone wants a synthetic...
it is the best one for absorbing harmonics during recoil, that can cause hearing damage, regardless of hearing protection being worn...

LeupyGavI second Hogue! I bought two for my Remmies and got the full bedding block versions. There is no foreend flex like you get with most synthetic stocks and some fibreglass/composite ones either! For the money absolutely brilliant. They have transformed my rifles.

Dr. LouI like Hogue for my 10-22, however, if they made one for Sako I couldn't bring myself to put one on my Sakos - they just don't exude quality. The only synthetic I have used and will use is McMillan. I can't speak to any other plastic stocks. Sako used them on their Fiberclass model. Lou

woodsieThanks guys!!!
I have the factory wood on it now.

Another vote for the Hogue with full length aluminum bedding block. Love 'em. They aren't pretty, but they are strong and stable.

himmelrrI have used Bell & Carlson, Hogue, and HS Precision and McMillan. McMillan is the best for a reason. They are not cheap but then neither is your rifle. I disliked the Hogue because it got squeaky when wet and I like silence. It was heavier than the walnut stock too. HS and B&C just didn't fit me right but if they do, then you're in luck. Stock fit is a personal thing so try some out if you can. Going with Cabelas is a good thing because of their return policy. I'm not sure if Cabelas still sells McMillan stocks though...
