What difference does the hole down the middle make? I didn't vote 'cause I like Douglas barrels.

Those are generally reputed to be good barrels.

I think I'd choose on what profile and twist type I could get (like 5R if you want it).

Then I'd find out who could deliver what I wanted to fit my time frame and that would possibly sway me.

I'll add that I corresponded on email with Dan Lilja aome years ago. He was very helpful, although I explained that his barrels aren't available here and that he would probably never see business from me. I'd support him if I had the chance. That said I'm sure there are lots of great guys out there, but I thought I would mention my experience. I am sold on good service.
