<vibrasonic9>I bought it.....
I found and bought a gun. By the time I pay for the gun, shipping and transfer fee I'll have about 700 in it. It's a Remington 700BDL DM SS/Syn. in 7mmSTW with factory brake. I think I overpaid a little for it, but since they quit making them some time ago, I was willing to go a little more when I found a dealer with one NIB. Anybody else have one of these, and if so, what kind of luck have you had with it?

cowboy77845Congratulations on purchasing a new rifle. It makes no difference what you paid for it, you wanted it and that was the price you had to pay to get it. Lots of folks may tell you you paid too much, but they were not there. I saw a used one in 280 2 yrs ago for around 5. I walked out of the store, came back later and it was gone. Apparently they do not stay on the shelf long. The guy who bought it loves it.

<vibrasonic9>I have 2 friends that have this same gun, they ordered them together when they were still in production from a small dealer that gave them good discounts and paid 625 each.......I guess they weren't real cheap when they were new. I have seen them priced at 800 used......yow!!!!

bobvthunterI didn't have the 700 BDL, but I had a Sendero SF in 7mm STW. The thing that surprised me the most about it was how reasonable the recoil was for such a large cartridge. I know the Sendero is a fairly heavy rifle, but I could shoot it comfortably from the bench and I am usually pretty recoil sensitive. I know someone that has/had one just like yours with the brake and he said the recoil felt about like his .243!
Mine didn't group as well as I would have liked, but I didn't have it long enough to work up an accuracy load. The main reason that I sold it was that I am an Eastern whitetail hunter and the 7mm STW just isn't the most practical cartridge for that. Not sure how I let my brother talk me into a 7mm STW for Eastern whitetail!
Good luck with your new rifle!
Bob

NebraskaI really like the embellished receivers! I wish they were still doing that. Congrats on the new gun!

<vibrasonic9>In my defense, those pictures were taken by the seller, the gun is in transit now..I should have it in my hands mid-next week.
Thanks for all the kind words.
