9.3x62 Rifle

I want to buy a new 9.3x62 rifle and I have two alternative.

1)Steyr-mannlicher Classic Mannlicher
2)Heym SR-21

Which one is better than other???

If the steyr is the SBS, I think you will find the Heym to be better quality. If the Steyr is the model M from a few years back, then they are about the same.

Well both guns are well made.
The steyr has an extreme strong bolt action system tested with up to 8000bar pressure. The Heym shoots very accuratly. Shoot both and choose your favorite gun.

I would opt for the Hyem....It is a more sporting stock design...Actually I would prefer a Mauser from some English gun firm or a custom Mauser.

If I'm not mistaken you can get a 9.3x62 from CZ as well. I looked at a Model 550 American last year and if my memory is correct it was a new rifle. Asking price was around $475 or so. Probably should have bought it, but was financially challenged at the time.

MAc you can not compare a lousy CZ with a Heym Sr 21...

There's nothing wrong with CZ's they shoot as well as rifles costing much more. There a supurb rifle and excellent for cash strapped blokes such as my-self [Cool]

The CZ is a working rifle and is an excellent value. However, it is not meant to be an heirloom that will increase in value over the years. The Heym and Steyr (to a lesser extent) are high-end firearms that will go up in value as they become collectors' items. The Heym is the better investment.

Yes CZ is good shooting rifle but only good shooting is not enough.Good looking,high quality materyals,precision manufacturing, tradition,naostalgia...German,Austrian and Finnish Sako rifles are best of the best.

Oh what about the Dumoulin-herstal?Do you have any information about them?

I appreciate each individuals to use whatever equipment they want, personally for me hard working reliable rifles provide greater pleasure for me. I suppose at the end of the day you just find beauty in what you can afford, to me CZ's look and perfrom great. If I could afford Heym's maybe I would not like CZ's [Wink]

On another note my frined and I are considering importing 9.3x62 CZ rifles into Australia as CZ Australia only import 30/06, .308 etc. My friend has his heart set on the "battue" model, while I have chosen the more standard looking American style (I was also considering the lux, or full stock unit). Do you think my mate has made the right choice ?? The rifles will take about 6 months to get here I suppose.
