Remington drop the 300 RUM with Nosler Partition ?
Hi Guys:

I have been a Remington 300 RUM fan ever since the round came out about four years ago.

I knew Remington was coming out with their own brand of bonded bullets called the Core Lock Ultra.

I was just searching their website and could not find the Remington Factory Ammo 180 or 200 grain Nosler Partition in their line up. Did they drop this loading in place of their new Core Lock Ultra..??

Yes, I am a handloader, but that factory 180 & 200 grain Nosler @ over 3300 fps both shot sub MOA on my 300 RUM, both weights in the same group.

Any info would be appreciated...

I feel your pain. My 300 RUM shoots both the 180 and 200 gr Partition factory loads into the same sub-MOA groups. I heard at some time that they were dropping the Partition loadings, but can't remember where to verify.

Luckily, I have a pretty good supply of 'em. Hopefully they'll come to their senses, or I can duplicate the loads easily...

As COL Towney Whelen used to say, "WHY NOT LOAD YOUR OWN??"

Remington has in fact dropped all Nosler products from their line of ammunition. Nosler and Remington got crosswise over a year ago and they have quit doing business with each other.

Hi Elde....

The reason I don't reload for the 300 RUM is that it would be hard to duplicate almost .500 accuracy @ 100 yards with both 180 and 200 grain Nosler Partitions. And as TT also stated he was getting this kind of accuracy from his exact setup. I also have a buddy shooting the same kind of groups from his 300 RUM.... with this factory ammo.

I have a muzzle break on my RUM and the Chrony says I am shooting about 3,350 FPS. I also have taken over 14 head of African Plains game with this combination.

For me ..... both the Remington 700 RUM and the factory ammo has been tried and true.

Regards.... Jim P.

Not to contradict you, but my .300 RUM shot handloads like crazy, so long as I did my part.
My part consisted of holding steady, and using around 93gr. of RL25 with 180gr bullets...sakofan.......

If it shoots factoy ammo under 1moa, you can get it to shoot handloads at least to the same level of accuracy. No way I/m paying $38/box for ammo, I shoot too much for that!
