9.3 / 285 gr Mega very similar to Prvi bullet

I have received two different types of bullets for my 9.3x62: Lapua Mega in 286 grain (18.5 g) and the Graf and Sons' PRVI bullet in the same weight.

I'll have to take and post a picture to show you, but It would be difficult to tell them apart. Round nose, similar contours, same double groove radially around the mid section (for crimping). Granted, looks are one thing, and construction/performance are another.

I have cross sectioned the PRVI bullet, and observed a straight copper alloy jacket in the parallel section of the bullet.

The Lapua Mega is supposed to have a "corelokt" type of jacket (non-parallel/stepped) to hold the jacket to then lead insert. Haven't hacksawed it yet-but will soon.

Lapua Megas were ~ $48 USD shipped per 100. PRVI bullets were $19 USD shipped per 100. Both were from Graf and sons in USA.

With similar bullet shape and weight, it will be interesting to see how each bullet shoots compared to the other (same zero?). If so, could be good practice bullet.

Haven't shot the Lapua Mega yet, but the PRVI shoot < 1.5 MOA from a CZ 550 American model rifle.

I was surprised to see both bullets look exactly (to me) the same.

I used 6.5 mm 155 gr mega tip Lapula bullets in my 264 win mag.They are awesome accurate 3/8" at one hundred yards.I shot two pronghorn at 350 yards it did a good job with hardly any meat damage.I also shot a 275 deer at 15 yards they did the same thing.I wish more people carried them.I bought 1000 of the 6.5mm mega tips.

That Mega looks like a very good bullet for the 9,3x62 Mauser and 9,3x66 Sako.

My wife has been shooting the Megas in Africa on our last 2 trips. They have performed very well in her 6.5x55 on a variety of PG. I used her rifle also and really like this bullet when I used it for a couple of animals.

I just picked up a 264 Win Mag and plan on trying to load them in it. I don't want screaming velocity, just thought the mega would be a great round in this caliber.

The Lapua Mega shoots very accurately (.65 MOA) from my Blaser R93 9,3x62. Last week, I shot a small Roe with it and the bullet opened barely. Tough bullet intended for big game.

Is there any chance you can post a photo of the 9.3 cal. Mega? I'd like to get a feel for its profile. My rifle generally doesn't like round nose bullets, but I'd like to try some of those Megas.

I got the best load in my 264 win mag with these mega tips with a load of 70 grs of h-870 powder.I would start at 67 grains and work up.I had to deep seat them in my Ruger 77 because of its short throat.I ordered 1000 of them i liked them so much.They were way more accurate than any other bullet I tried in the 264.The 140 gr remington corelocks shot about 1.5" at 100 yards vs 3/8" for the 155 gr mega tips.I am buying a 264 in Sendero to shoot them alittle faster in.I got around 2850 fps with my rifle with no pressure signs.
