New Kimber 8400 Long Action Info (1/31/2006)
I just talked with the folks at Kimber and they told me that we should start seeing the long action magnum Classic 8400's "shortly". They also said that the Montana version will be avaliable late summer-early fall.

I asked about a .338 Win, as that is the chambering I am most interested in and I was told that chambering would be avaliable. clap I was surprised, however, to hear that all the L/A magnums would have 26" barrels, including the .338. bewildered

I can't wait to get my hands on a .338 Montana, although I might have the barrel trimmed 2 or 3 inches.

The long action Kimber sounds inviting. My hope for the 338 is that they use a little stronger wood than Claro. In a 338 it would be nice to have some of thier French walnut or maybe even good black Walnut to hold up better in a larger caliber like the 338.................DJ
