june6th1944Anyone loading the Hornady .30-30 160g Flex Tips FTX?
I have some loaded and I'm trying to see what others are loading.
Hornady's load sheet does not include a lot of powders most people will be have/use, such as IMR4064, IMR3031, or Varget.
I've got my own loads ready for shooting with Varget in my Winchester 94 (I have a side-mounted scope).

Dave SmithYes I have. But first welcome new member.I hope you find good company here. The load I use: H-4895 powder, CCI 200 primers, C.O.L. 2.570 and a Lee factory crimp. I shoot a Marlin 336 topped with a Leupold 2x7. I was very pleased with the results.

ned36 grains of W7748, CCI Primer, Lee Crimp. Works great in my Marlin 336. I've only used them for plinking but will try them out on hog this fall.

seafire2I dissected a couple of factory rounds to see what they were using...
they were using a powder that looked like 748..or BLC2...with a charge of 35.5 grains...
I just loaded up 60 rounds for someone else to use this season...I went with 36 grains of BLC2...
they shot very very well...but were not chronographed...

Jeff SullivanSince killing a few deer and hogs with factory LeverEv ammo, I have been wanting to try loading my own. I have been using Varget in my other loads for my 30-30's with excellent accuracy.
Has anyone used the LeverEv bullets in other 30 cal loads like 308?
