When looking for an older Mauser (in 7 x 57), what do I need to be aware of? Preferences? Where's the value/smart buy? Will be in Germany in Feb, and will be nosing around all my favorite haunts. I know this is a huge subject, feel free to point me where I can do some homework.

I called them about it and no "maker's name" on barrel or side of action. The bottom metal has the TWO screws front and back and the magazine floorplate is removed by inserting the bullet nose.

But that stock is a classic that's for sure!
