anyone tried one of these in 300wm or have any opinion on or other information about the R1

the new issue of Guns and Ammo ran a tests. it would not cycle to began with. and there was a problem with the bolt not locking up. thats all i know.

Ok I traded for one of these and it seems to work just fine so far 150 gr fail safes winchester ammo just bore sighted and ran about 20 rounds through it and runs like a clock have not fired for a group yet but my 50 yd gong took a beating from this one. have not seen anything when taking this completely apart that realy worries me but my 190 gr matchkings "provided free from unkle sam" are to long for the magazine but all other loads seem to fit fine.

anyone else tried this?

Before you start bitching about simi auto I traded a govt modified m1a for this so no big loss still prefer my bolt gun.

I looked at these but since i already have 2 BAR's and an HK SLB just couldn't justify another semi. THey seem to be well built from just looking at them.

Absolutely nothing wrong with semi's for hunting either, I can definately get a faster follow-up shot than with any other action.
