I took my rifles out today, made the mistake of playing with my scopes the other day so now my 308 Norma is NOT ready for Utah, but my 06 is, in spades.

It's a 22" barreled (military barrel cut down) springfield. Took a couple boxes of 150g federals to adjust the scope before trying out the superformance. (that federal stuff is good, chrono'd right around 2850). I was REAL happy with the Hornady though, I have the GMX, 165g, I got 2970ish fps! shot real good too, I was practicing for hunting and just making sure it was shooting about the same as the federal since I'm not practicing a bunch with the premium.

It's some great stuff man, I'll take the superformance in any gun I have that they make it for.

SUPERFORMANCE® This is another of the spherical powders Hodgdon® Powder Company and Hornady® Manufacturing introduced to answer the frequently asked reloading question: "Can I buy the powder used in the Hornady Superformance factory ammunition?"

That should be a great load. Unfortunately, Hornady also puts the SST in that hot load and so it is going to dynamite on close shots. Good choice with the GMX.
