7mm 150 gr E-Tip Report
I tested some 7mm 150 gr E-Tip bullets in my 280 AI. The test consisted of shooting into 1 gallon milk jugs filled with water at 100 yds. Bullets were recovered sticking out the back side of jug #6. Average velocity was 2940 fps. Recovered weight was 148.4 grs for all three bullets and average expanded diameter is 0.587".
Accuracy was just under 1 inch but I will work with the COL to fine tune as the rifle is capable of much better accuracy.
Please note that the picture of the water jugs are full of water. I realized I had my camera in the truck after I set up for the next shot so I went back and got my camera.

keithv35Man,and I thought my family drank a lot of milk!
Thanks for the report, looks like they performed as advertised. I just picked up several bags of .270 e-tips and am anxious to get some range time in.
That's a perfect mushroom and a great weight for the 7mm. How's the barrel fouling so far? Any worse than normal?

fredj338Looks promising. I'll have to give them a try in my 7s.
My shipment of Etips came in while I was in BC. 130s for my 270s. Will try them first chance I get.

Fish30114Doc, will be looking for your BC report...
How long are the 7mm E-tips, especially compared to a 'standard' 150?

375 H&H FanIs that as far as they expand? Doesn't look like they opend all the way to the bottom of the cavity.
With a MV of 2940 fps, impact velocity at 100 yds is 2748 fps.
