CZ 550 American .308 factory twist rate, circa 2007
I have recently aquired a nice 550 in .308 and would like to put together a good all around cartridge, but I can not seem to find the twist of this barrel online or in this forum, I've emailed CZ but no answer yet. most shots will be 300yds or less, hog/deer size targets, also will be looking to cast a few for practice. .....Thanks, buntingmiester

or 1-10.
don't much matter the 30-30 will stabilize a 170 at 21-200 fps your 308 better be able to beat that.

just pick a good 165gr bullet and have at it.

call Tom at accurate molds and order the
30-165 A it's designed for the 308.
size it to 310
pick a load between 1600 fps and 2400 fps and go to it.
don't go getting fancy with the alloy 1% tin and about 2% antimony will be enough and will size properly.

thanks for the replies, guess I'm gonna do the "watch the cleaning rod rotate trick", I've got a few pounds of wheel weights to melt, do you think I will have to add anything to them to bring the hardness up? Obviously new to casting. thanks ...... buntingmiester
