8mm Rem Mag
Anybody fiqure out what happened yet? Anyway, I received my barreled action from Pac-Nor today. I had them fit the barrel and apply Gun Kote. I can't wait to shoot it. Soon as they send me my damn trigger they left off I will. Back to Krieger. dempsey

Let me know what it shoots like. I almost had Pac-nor build me a 8 mag. They did a phenomenal job on my 378 WBY. Shoots like a varmint gun. Please e-mail me with results. Thanx

I'll do that. I'm sure I will be happy with it. Still can't understand how it got past them. But then I'm a perfectionist to a fault. Blood pressure back to normal and back to the waiting. dempsey

good luck with your 8mm
I just had my password changed and I don't know how it happened or where they could have got the particular phrase.

Ok I need the snail mail address/web address of pac-nor! I'am sure one of you fine gentlemen have it. I have a Remington Classic in 8MM Mag and I would like to have a stainless/fluted 28in barrel installed on it.

Heres Pac-Nor's web address

The trigger was removed before coating and never put back on. Everybody makes mistakes, so I tell myself.

How much velocity do you guys think one would gain in going to a 28in barrel? I'm thinking of maybe trying this in the futureafter i've used my 8mm for a while.

Craig Boddington's 8mm mag has a 28" pac nor on it. He uses 220 Sierra bt and 80 gr of H4831. His 8 breaks 3100 fps.

Do anybody knows how the 8mm Rem compare to the 8x68.

The Hornady manual I have lists 2700fps as max for the 220 grain bullet in the 8x68S, versus 2900fps for the same bullet in the 8mm Mag.

I suspect the 8x68S data might be a little soft. Since it's not too popular and they don't know what kind of rifles are "out there", they may be conservative on the loads.

The 8x68 data in the Hornady book is very soft.My 8x68 has a 26 in barrel and it comes within 100 fps of 8mm Rem loads. It feeds so smooth!

With the factory 24 in. barrel I was getting 2800 to 2900 fps with different 220 gr. bullets. With Re. 25 and a Sierra 220 gr. bullet I achieved 3000 fps safely but accuracy was poor. It really was a one load rifle which is why I'm getting a new barrel. Hornady 220 gr. were the only bullet it liked. Does anybody have experience with woodliegh(sp) 250 gr. bullets? Anybody else making 250 gr. .323 bullets? dempsey

Thanks dempsey, it will be interesting to see what re25 can do out of the longer barrel. I don't know of anyone else that makes 250 grain bullets.

I have a 26" barrel on mine, and will easily get 3100 fps with 220 gr bullets. This caliber really seems to shine with a slightly longer barrel. - Dan

One bullet that helps compensate for the lack of any heavier bullets, is the Swift A-Frame 220 grain.

I haven't used it on game yet, but it is accurate and doesn't seem to foul like the Barnes X can.

I hope to take my Classic, loaded with the Swifts, to Africa next year.

Joe.
