Are the Super Mags Worth?
I had posed this question a while back thinking .338-378 or .340Wby. Settled on another 300Wby. This will be my 5th. I had great accuracy in all of the first 4 and have hundreds of brass, it just so happened I found a deal I couldn't pass up so the .338 will just have to wait. It will serve as my open country carry rifle where I will be putting on the miles, and a long shot will be probable. For poken around here at home where my shots are typically under 200 yards the 240 or 260 usually get the nod. Anyway, back to being over-gunned.

When I bid on ebay, I use the 338 technique. Meaning I end all of my auctions in 338. For example, if something is worth 50.00 to me, I'll round up to $53.38, so as to not get out-bid by just a few cents. This is why I like the 338 over the 340.

No response expected. It's a new gun. The wife, she don't care. Most people don't care when you have a baby, but you still have to tell people. If anyone is in the neighborhood I'm passing out cigars.

Congratulations on the new rifle and hope you really enjoy playing with it. Is it a Vanguard, Mark V or ???
Talking about being over gunned, I bought a Remington BDL in 300 RUM just because they were being sold at a good price. Getting a new rifle is fun.

Enjoy.

It is fun. It breaks up the long cold winter abit. It is a Mark 5 Outfitter. Basically an ultra lightweight with teflon and lapped lugs. It is supposed to snow 10" to 15" here today, but if it doesn't start soon I'm heading to the pit to shoot.

I've had a couple Outfitters, in Desert Camo. Nice rifles. Enjoy.
