Hey all, I make it a point to buy "no paper" guns.A buddy has a Savage tactical in .308 ,bull barrel, floated, harris bipod, weaver 4x14 grand slam scope, and 400 rounds of assorted .308 ammo for $700.00....Is it a deal or no??????

dan belisleDepends. Where are you, and is the $700 US or CDN? - Dan
NOT TOO bad. I am guessing it is a 10FP. I have one and it is a regular 1/2" or less gun. The only problem IF it is a 10FP is the glass stock is very sensitive to pressure when shooting. Sling, bench, holding, make it sensitive to repeat put the bullet in the same hole shooting, something the rifle is DEFINITLEY capable of.
If you want to get the absolute most out of it you want to get a Sharp Shooter catalog and get the replacement trigger for $89.00 and one of their stocks(prices vary) and you WILL have a rifle you can pretty much shoot anywhere and not worry about being shown up.

dan belisleMS, for what you are getting I would say that is a pretty good deal. You aren't stealing it by any means, but you're getting your money's worth. You wouldn't happen to be from around Steven's Point would you? I worked there for awhile a few years ago. Nice town. FWIW - Dan

<bigcountry>I don't know man. Used gun. You can buy that same gun for 420 dollars at a good shop or even gunbroker. Its not a rip off, but not a bargain either.

Red Neck64$700.00 is to much money for a used Rifle. That same Rifle would sell, here in N.Y.State for from $350.00 to $425.00 with out the Harris Bipod.

boltmanI'm a FFL dealer and that same gun costs me new $399 with the new accutrigger. The scope costs me new $294. Add in $25 for rings and bases and you're looking at $720 wholesale new for everything minus the ammo which I wouldn't pay a dime for. I'm not advocating one way or another, just giving you an idea of the wholesale cost of the rig.
