I jumped on the CDNN "close out" too. Bought a 7mm-08 Ultra Light. Have wanted one since I saw their first display sample in Reno 3-4 years ago. The price was too much then, and was still snappy at CDNN, but I had to have one. Going to be one super pig gun or any walking hunting. The Ultra is a traditionalized variation of the Scout rifle, and way more appealing to my eyes. Can hardly wait to see it.

I bought a Steyr SBS 96 Forester in 9.3x62mm and have been enormously impressed with the quality of the design, build and everything else.

It is just about the most rifle for the money that can be found on the market these days. But I have never fallen for the CRF mythology and have always been a sucker for Teutonic engineering besides. Wink

i think youll find your velocity well over published. the steyrs have fast bbl's. i dont know if its because they are very smooth almost like a handlapped BBL or if its because of the tapered bore. i have a 20" 308 that gets 2580 from factory 168 federal match.

I have the 7mm-08 Ultra Light now, scope mounted, etc.., and it is so cute!! Now to figure out how to spend tomorrow. Do I go to a gun show or do I go to the range? Decisions, decisions!
