PaulHI need to stop.
The planets must all be in alignment. There are(were) three rifles that I had on my "I will buy if I see at a decent price" list. They were;
Rem 700 Classic 8x57
Win, Rem, Ruger 6.5x55
Win Mod 70 270 Weatherby
The 8x57 will be in this week.
Almost had a Mod 70 FWT 6.5x55, but he dude said it went out the door as fast as it came in. So he turned me on to another store that had a mint cz 550 American in the same caliber.
It will be here next week. If it shoots anything like my 7x64 CZ, I'll be estatic.
I'm afriad to browse some more cause I might run into that Win Mod 70 270 Weatherby.

PhatmanI've never seen a Rem 700 in 8mm Mauser. Thing has to be rare.
Good find,
Cheers, John

DocEdThe Classis in 8x57 was a sales disaster for Rem but a boone to those who love the cartridge. My wholesale house had a slew of them left over and sold them very cheap.

Ive seen about half a dozen over the last year. Most have been safe queens. That said, watch, now I won't see another.
Last one went for just a hair over $400. I'd have snatched it up but HAD to have a nice Husqvarna instead. Oh well.

That's SAAMI's fault for setting the standards so low that they basically turn an 8x57 into a bolt action .30-30 unless you can find European ammo or load your own.

OldsargeTrue, but when you do you get a round that is somewhere between a 30/06 and a .318 WR and that's some class company! Americans just don't understand the caliber.
