pdhntr1Price Check: Browning BAR
A buddy has a Belgium made Browning, circa 1978, in 30-06. Excellent shape.
Can someone give me a ball park figure on the value. He is putting it up for sale.
Thanks.

ReloaderI sold one in excellent condition for $400 here. I'm sure the value varies based on location, but they don't bring a fortune here.
Good Luck

pdhntr1Thanks Reloader for the response.
I agree with you and hope for his sake, this area will bring a little more.

LWDIf it's in 99%+ condition and not a Portugese assembled model, there's potential for collector interest. Otherwise, $500 is probably very top end. Many of them don't shoot really well. Not badly, but not really all that well. My 7mm Rem Mag wouldn't do better than 1.5" groups and took an hour to cool off enough for the temperature not to effect the next group. Makes load testing and development a long process.

browningguyIn Houston a Made in Belgium BAR would be $500 minimum, and that would be well hunted with. An excellent-mint gun is probably 600-650 locally.
