hunteratheartWinchester model 70 Coyote Outback in .308
Just committed to buying as I got a great deal on a new one! Anyone have loads whether factory or not they like to shoot in theirs. Although I realize it's a little late, would love to hear what others think of theirs.

hunteratheartOk, since no one is biting....it has a 1 in 10" twist with a 24" barrel. For a .308, I'm thinking the heavier the bullet the better. Would you tend to agree it would probably shoot best with 168 grain to 180 grain bullets? Would the 150s "over-rotate" and not be as stabile over distance ( say to 300 yards or so)?

larrysI don't have that particular rifle type, but I do not think you can drive a 150 grain bullet fast enough out of a 308 to cause any problems with stabilization. Mine is a 10.5 twist and even the 308 Hornady Light Magnums do not drive it fast enough to make it not work properly. Besides, most of the 30-06s I know of have 1:10 and they shoot 150s just fine.
