Anyone have one yet? They sound interesting with the octagonal barrel and whatnot. Just interested in feedback from those that have seen/handled/shot one.

I have Coopers in the Classic, Varminter, Montana Varminter, Varmint Extreme and Jackson Game. At present the Western Classic is above my pay grade. I will say that the Coopers have become some of my fav's. Excellent fit, finish and accuracy. IMHO, a conscientiously pre-enjoyed Cooper purchased at +/- 60% of retail is one of the best values out there.

Western Classics are classic, and can be had across the rimfire and centerfire spectrum.

IIRC, the model 57 is a rimfire.

The model 21,22,38, 52,54 and model 56 are centerfires, and can be had from 17 through 338 cal in the western classic.

At least 1-2x per month, I put a couple hundred rounds through it. It's a frickin little tack driver too.

These are at 70 yds, my zero distance.

Off the bench but with my off hand under the forearm.

Dang you're hide.dancing

I've been trying to resist a 57m Classic in 17HMR for several weeks now. You may have pushed me over the edge with this thread.

My latest addition, picked up a couple months ago.

Cooper Model 22, Varmint Extreme, 22-250 Remington

Due to recent surgery I've not been to the range to shoot it yet. I'm going in the AM.

I have a M52 JGR in 6.5-284 Norma. I am very pleased with it. A Western Classic would be bliss in any configuration. That one above is a dandy. tu2

For an upgraded rifle the M57 is probably a good choice. A rifle you likley won't take on a hard core hunt yet use around the yard regularly.

Gedub, and others, I have edited my post to reflect my actual intent--the Model 52 in the Western Classic (octagon barrel configuration! Geez my typing skills are poor when it comes to the numbers!!

I too have several coopers, starting at 17 HMR, which I love! I also have several centerfires, and think I would really like the blend between the modern bolt design, and the classic octagon barrel and perhaps the Jackson Game stock configuration......been thinking of my Christmas to me item Smiler

The last time I was in Chuck's he had 2 but that was a year ago so I'd call before the drive to Buckhead.

One thing, if you buy it for yourself and don't like it, you definitely know who to blame.

Here is a model 52, Jackson game with a 26" fluted stainless barrel option.

The Jackson Game is my favorite stock style followed by the Classic, then the varminter.

Blatant gun porn...and in a darn fine caliber to boot. You should be ashamed posting link like that!

I've never looked much a Cooper rifles before. They are indeed pretty.

30+ years experience tells me that perfection hit at .264. Others are adequate but anything before or after is wishful thinking.

Geedub, nice pics. Is that a Leica scope on that Jackson Game/Stainless rig? I've been curious about their scopes for a while, I have and love their BRF Binoculars.

I've got several Jackson game stock configurations, and like them a lot--thinking it would be a cool blend of modern and classic with that stock and the Octagonal barrel.....

Tom, will call Chucks in the AM!
